Leather in perfumery
Leather does not exist in nature as a perfumery material: it is an accord, built from smoked birch, styrax, saffron, iris or musks, and it ranges from soft, powdery suede to black, smoky, raw leather. It makes for fragrances with character, worn in the evening and in cold weather, often softened by vanilla, fruit or honey.
