The fragrance
Une fleur d’oranger is soft but lively, with that floral, slightly green and somewhat honeyed character that makes orange blossom so rich.
From the opening, there is a radiant, almost zesty freshness that recalls the tree and its leaves. Then the flower takes over, with a rounder, sunnier texture, never too sweet. There is a balance between radiance and softness that keeps the fragrance very natural.
Over time, it grows softer and more blended, with a light warmth that stays on the skin, like a flower warmed by the sun.
The bigarade, or bitter orange tree, is the source of rich and varied extracts. Our orange blossom absolute is produced from trees grown on an organic farm in Tunisia. It is ideal for bringing opulence and sensuality to fragrances. Orange blossom absolute has honeyed, jasmine-like facets.
The brand
Obvious is a French fragrance house founded in 2020 by David Frossard, a discreet but essential figure in niche perfumery. A former distributor who spent more than twenty years supporting the rise of Byredo, Juliette Has A Gun, Atelier Cologne and Liquides Imaginaires, he founded Obvious after a path that was as philosophical as it was professional. Because before perfume came philosophy, and it was in Descartes that he found his brand's name: self-evidence, that moment when truth presents itself without needing any explanation. His starting point is an admission: niche perfume had lost its way. Too much convoluted storytelling, too much ostentation, too many screens between the juice and the person wearing it. Obvious is his answer: strip away everything that hides, everything that serves to justify a price rather than give pleasure. The bottle is made from recycled glass, the alcohol is organic, the cap is cork from offcuts of wine-stopper production and the packaging is paper with no cellophane. Not a marketing move, but consistency. David Frossard did not create a green brand, he made an honest one. Less is more. This is obvious.
