The Atelier Materi house
Atelier Materi is a French house founded in 2019 by Véronique Le Bihan, who comes from Brittany. She has kept from it a taste for raw, mineral landscapes, which run through the whole identity of the brand. Her approach starts with the material: each perfume rests on one main ingredient, whose different facets she sets out to reveal rather than drowning it in a complex structure. The formulas stay easy to read, with few materials, all serving that central axis. Architecture also feeds the house's world, in its search for clean lines and balance. You see it in the object itself: a blue-tinted glass bottle topped with a hand-shaped concrete stopper. Production relies on known partners and artisan know-how, mainly in Europe.

Ambre Papier: a dry, delicate amber, soft as a sheet of paper under your fingers.
Burgundy Oud: a warm, elegant oud, where the depth of the wood meets liqueur-like nuances.
Cacao Porcelana: a rare cocoa, at once bitter, warm and creamy.
Narcisse Taiji: wild narcissus from the Aubrac, surrounded by pear, ginger, hay absolute, leather and patchouli.
Néroli Hasbaya: a radiant neroli, joined by orange blossom, bitter almond, pistachio, rose and white sandalwood.
Santal Blond: a pale, textured sandalwood, woken up by bergamot and cardamom, resting on hinoki and tonka bean.
Tonka Kumaru: a rich, roasted tonka bean, with bitter almond, toasted barley, hay and vanilla.
Vanille Carbone: a dark, smoky Madagascan vanilla, with black pepper, pink peppercorns, leather and incense.
Which Atelier Materi perfume should I choose?
For a luminous floral, choose Néroli Hasbaya; Narcisse Taiji offers a wilder, more leathery floral. Burgundy Oud will appeal to lovers of fruity, liqueur-like notes. If you like warmth, turn to Vanille Carbone for smoke, Tonka Kumaru or Cacao Porcelana for gourmand, Santal Blond for a pale woody and Ambre Papier for the lightest of ambers.
