Khalil T.⁶

Khalil T. is a Parisian perfumery house founded in 2022, born from an unconventional path. Khalil, a self-taught individual, first established his legitimacy as a recognized perfume connoisseur and readily offered perfume advice on his Snapchat account: he selected, recommended, and supported the launches of the most audacious niche perfumery creations, building a community of enthusiasts around him even before creating anything himself. When he moved into composition, he collaborated with perfumers Stéphanie de Bruijn and Julie Massé, two renowned noses in the industry. The collection is built around a unisex, intense, and resolutely modern signature, somewhere between the contemporary Arab world and European sophistication. Kryptonite, the house's first fragrance, immediately launched a bolder vision of niche perfumery: luminous aldehydes, tonka bean, iris absolute, jasmine sambac, a base of white sandalwood and almond. A powdery and creamy fragrance that envelops the skin with a magnetic presence. Kryptonite Absolu pushes the formula even further, towards toffee caramel, praline, and a more opulent sandalwood. Krypto Night takes another direction, fresher and more sparkling with pear, ginger, white flowers, and ambergris, like the nocturnal and electric version of the same DNA. Santal Cashmere explores an aquatic and lactonic woody scent, with a surprising red algae opening that gives way to a very soft iris and sandalwood heart. What characterizes Khalil T. is this ability to create immediately recognizable fragrances, embraced by a community that has adopted them as a signature.

Stéphane Humbert Lucas¹⁷

Stéphane Humbert Lucas is a Parisian house founded in 2012 by its eponymous creator—a painter, poet, and perfumer. It all began in the south of France, where he studied painting with a Flemish master, specializing in tempera technique and developing an obsession with pigment combinations. It was through experimenting with painting that he became aware of his synesthesia: the ability to smell colors, a perceptual phenomenon where sight simultaneously triggers the sense of smell. He doesn't seek to invent perfumes; he invites materials to combine, convinced that his role is that of an intermediary between the senses. The 777 collection, launched in 2012, is nourished by his travels to the Middle East and his fascination with this land he considers the cradle of the universe. The Orient is not treated as superficial exoticism but as a source of beauty, mystery, and wisdom. The number 7, appearing three times in the name, symbolizes protection, perfection, and luck for him. In 2022, he launched the Serpent collection, inspired by tales and legends from around the world. Each composition emerges from a mental canvas where colors, sounds, and poetry accumulate before condensing into a fragrance. Each composition is built around precious, often rare, materials chosen for their emotional density. Truly an artist's house in every sense of the word.

Frédéric Malle Editions de Parfums was born in 2000 from a simple and radical conviction. Frédéric Malle, grandson of the founder of Parfums Christian Dior, former evaluator at Givaudan, trained in art history and photography, started with a simple observation: the world's greatest perfumers work in the shadows, constrained by marketing briefs, limited budgets, and imposed deadlines. No one knows their names. He decided to reverse this logic. His model is not a perfume house. It is a publishing house, modeled on the literary world. Frédéric Malle chooses his authors, gives them total carte blanche, no brief, no time constraints, and signs each bottle with the name of its creator. Dominique Ropion, Jean-Claude Ellena, Maurice Roucel, Olivia Giacobetti, Pierre Bourdon: some of the most respected noses in the industry, who for the first time could compose without compromise and publicly claim their work. Portrait of a Lady, Carnal Flower, Musc Ravageur have become absolute references in contemporary perfumery. The bottle follows the same philosophy: neutral, refined, minimalist, designed so that nothing distracts from the perfume and its author. No muse, no advertising campaign. The house's reputation was built by word-of-mouth and the power of the fragrances themselves. A house that changed an entire industry's perception of its own craft.

Imaginary Liquids¹⁰

Liquides Imaginaires is a French artistic perfumery house founded in 2012 by Philippe Di Méo, designer, and David Frossard, Artistic Director. In ancient times, perfume was addressed to the gods before it was addressed to men. It is this original, sacred, and transformative dimension that Philippe Di Méo seeks to restore. Each collection bears a name that refers to the invisible world. "Les Eaux Delà" because perfume has always been what crosses, what passes to the other side. "Les Eaux de Peau" because before language, human beings communicated through smell, through the skin, through the animal they still were. "Les Eaux Sanguines" because wine and blood share the same color and the same sacred intoxication. "Les Eaux de l'Est" because the incense and spice routes shaped perfumery long before Grasse. And "Les Eaux Imaginaires" evoke the great maps of desire, from the Map of Tendre to the geographies invented by literature. Three perfumes per collection, always. For Philippe Di Méo, the number three is perfect balance: body, soul, spirit. Past, present, future. Each bottle, designed as an antique vessel with gold or silver caps, is itself a ritual object. Gardens of Tuscany⁸

The story of Giardini di Toscana begins in 1942 in Bibbiena, a medieval village nestled in the Casentino, one of Tuscany's best-preserved valleys. It was there that Giovan Piero and Emma Ducci opened their first shop, specializing in the artisanal creation of perfumes and pomades. Silvia Martinelli, Giovan Piero and Emma's granddaughter, is a self-taught perfumer trained in the same space, filled with recipe books and ancestral techniques, who brought the house into the era of niche perfumery. Silvia combines her family heritage with a dual aspiration: to honor Italian tradition while exploring a free, profound, and resolutely modern creativity. Her territory of inspiration is the Tuscan garden, a meeting place between architecture and nature, between human endeavor and the generosity of the earth. This is where the perfumes are born: the mist of the undergrowth, morning citrus fruits, childhood biscuits, evening flowers. Precise, never abstract images. Production is entirely Italian, responsible, and transparent: bottles blown by a historic glassworks powered by renewable energy, cases printed locally on recycled paper. A house of generations that still smells of Tuscany.

Bey is a French niche perfume house founded in 2024 by Raf Bey, who also founded Librery Parfums and is the creative director of Phenom. Its name is no coincidence: in the Ottoman Empire, a bey was a title held by dignitaries, a noble and silent authority, embodying dignity rather than ostentation. This perfectly encapsulates the house's ethos. For his Renaissance collection, Raf Bey entrusted the compositions to two perfumers, Chris Maurice and Nathalie Feisthauer, with a clear instruction: to create perfumes that tell a story without needing to shout. Six unisex creations, without assigned gender, each inhabiting a different atmosphere. Abyssoria explores mineral and saline depths. Cachemire Blanc envelops with a soft, textile warmth. Excursion evokes spiced markets and oriental pastries through a remarkably precise orange blossom and almond accord. What unites these perfumes is a shared restraint in expression and an equal ambition in the materials used. The bottle follows the same logic: sober, refined, designed so that nothing distracts from the perfume itself. A brand new house, driven by someone who already knows their craft intimately.

Jonathan Blanc²

Jonathan Blanc is a French perfumery house founded by a man whose story began long before perfume. The latest generation in a line of exceptional leatherworkers, Jonathan Blanc grew up surrounded by precious leathers. It is this heritage of beauty and rarity that structures everything he does. It was almost by accident that he discovered oud wood, a mystical wood revered for centuries in the East. He became an importer of oud wood, supplying perfumers and connoisseurs. Two years spent traveling the Emirates gave him a new perspective: that of seeing French savoir-faire from the outside, from a world where noble raw materials reign supreme. This is how he created, with the perfumers, Adrien Lacape, "Délicieuse Crème Brûlée," signed by Adrien Lacape, opens with caramel and brown sugar before melting into deep Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean. In 2025, Jonathan Blanc will innovate with "Neige de Koh Samui," entrusted to Christian Carbonnel, the master perfumer, by bringing together tropical fruits—mango, passionfruit, watermelon—which then settle on a milky heart of rice pudding and coconut, with a caramel vanilla base. These are gourmand, precise perfumes that bear the imprint of a man for whom material has never been abstract.

Obvious Parfums¹³

Obvious is a French perfume house founded in 2020 by David Frossard, a discreet yet essential figure in niche perfumery. A former distributor who spent over twenty years supporting the emergence of brands like Byredo, Juliette Has A Gun, Atelier Cologne, and Liquides Imaginaires, he founded Obvious after a journey that was as much philosophical as professional. Before perfume, there was philosophy, and it was in Descartes that he found the name for his brand: "évidence" (obviousness), that moment when truth presents itself without needing explanation. His initial conviction was an admission: niche perfumery had drifted. Too much convoluted storytelling, too much ostentation, too many barriers between the scent and the wearer. Obvious is his answer: remove everything that hides, everything that serves to justify a price rather than offer pleasure. The glass is made from recycled glass, the alcohol is organic, the cap is made from cork derived from wine stopper production scraps, and the packaging is cellophane-free paper. Not a communication stunt, but consistency. David Frossard didn't create a green brand; he created an honest brand. Less is more. This is obvious.

Fazaia³

Fazaya is a young French perfume house founded by Yanis and Faouzi, two travel and perfume enthusiasts who spent eighteen months laying the foundations of their project before launching their first creation. It was in Dubai, during repeated stays in a world where perfume is a language in itself, that they understood what they wanted to do: not to copy Oriental perfumery, but to meet it. Their first perfume, Desert Sugar, composed by perfumer Pierre-Constantin Guéros, immediately sets the direction of the house. A high-concentration composition, conceived as an elixir rather than an eau de parfum, which blends the woody and sweet warmth of the Orient with French manufacturing standards. White musk, citrus, amber, oakmoss, sandalwood: noble materials, produced and formulated in France, with protected recipes. The perfumer himself sums it up: Desert Sugar is what modern Franco-Oriental perfumery is, powerful and radiant. This dialogue between two perfumery cultures that seem to oppose everything – the opulent intensity of the Orient and the restrained precision of French perfumery – is Fazaya's raison d'être. A house that is still young, but with a very clear vision of what it wants to build.

Goldfield & Banks⁸

Goldfield & Banks is a perfume house founded in Australia, born in Sydney in 2016 out of love at first sight. Dimitri Weber, a Franco-Belgian perfumer, visited Australia for the first time around 2014 and was looking for an Australian perfume brand. He found none. Fascinated by the botanical richness of a continent that modern perfumery had almost never explored, he decided to stay and create what did not exist. The house's name pays homage to Joseph Banks, the British botanist who accompanied James Cook on his round-the-world voyage in the 18th century and was the first to reveal Australia's extraordinary plant diversity to the European world. It is this same exploratory curiosity that Dimitri Weber translates into his perfumes: boronia, Australian red ginger, Tasmanian sandalwood, Southern coastal moss, Tasmanian lavender from Provençal plants transplanted a century ago. Rare ingredients, little or never used in perfumery, picked on site then sent to France to be formulated with organic beet alcohol and bottled according to European methods. Each perfume is a precise postcard: a sunset over the Indian Ocean for Sunset Hour, the feeling of walking on a wave-beaten coast for Pacific Rock Flower, the warmth of a rose in the middle of the desert for Rose Magnitude. High-concentration extracts, designed to last and leave a clear imprint. Australia in a bottle, composed with French savoir-faire.

Librery is an independent French perfume house founded in Paris, spearheaded by the same creator as Bey Parfums, Raf Bey, with the same perfumers, Chris Maurice and Nathalie Feisthauer. Its name is a play on the words "library" and "liberty": a library as a space of freedom, thought, and inhabited silence. The idea is precise and rare. Rather than drawing inspiration from an ingredient or a territory, Librery starts with an image: that of a secret library where each bottle rests like a rare manuscript, ready to reveal its secrets. Each perfume is a chapter, with its clear opening, its heart that reveals emotion, and its base that anchors the fragrance in memory like the last sentence of a novel one never truly closes. The creations of Chris Maurice and Nathalie Feisthauer carefully convey this promise. Mango Wave opens with realistic, juicy, and straightforward fruits, before giving way to a jasmine of rare finesse, then an almost neo-chypre base of oakmoss. Ambert Sunset marries ripe fruits with the warmth of amber in a golden and enveloping sillage. Palmeira plays on the roundness of plum and red fruits, luminous and joyful. These are perfumes that are initially worn for their immediacy, and then rediscovered over time. A young house, which already has the tone of a house that knows what it wants to express.
