The Attar Al Has house
Attar Al Has was founded in Istanbul in 2021 by Ersin Bas and Sinan Karakas. Its name pays tribute to the 'attar', the artisan perfumer who extracts, distils and blends raw materials using techniques passed down for centuries. The house claims this heritage without copying it: it reinterprets it in a modern style. Based in a land that has always linked East and West, it pairs emblematic materials such as oud, amber, saffron and spices with more modern structures. To do so, it works with perfumers from varied backgrounds, trained in both European and Middle Eastern perfumery, so that different approaches can meet. The bottles extend this approach: inspired by Ottoman decorative codes, they are designed as genuine pieces of craftsmanship.

Anatolian Rose: apple and black pepper, a touch of saffron, then a rose that takes centre stage. Currently out of stock.
Ethereal Moonstone: lemon and nagarmotha, fresh and spicy, before a majestic rose.
Exquisite: a creamy, sweet Turkish delight, surrounded by frosted raspberry and candied fruit.
Golden Ice: a sweet lychee lifted by green rhubarb, bergamot and nutmeg.
Harmonic Tourmaline: honey and pineapple, soft and tropical, then a rose in full bloom.
Leather Effecto: rum, saffron and nutmeg in the opening, a heart of jasmine, then vanilla, amber and sandalwood.
Liberty’s Way: mandarin, blackcurrant and lavender, a heart of jasmine sambac and orange blossom, then amber and vetiver.
Radiant Peridot: lychee, yuzu and red berries, a heart of lily of the valley and rose, then sandalwood, praline and vanilla.
Skin Musk: peach, almond and powdery notes, a heart of magnolia and Turkish rose, then Bourbon vanilla and musk. Currently out of stock.
Tiger’s Eye: bergamot and nutmeg, a heart of lily of the valley, iris and freesia, then tobacco, moss, amber and cedarwood.
Velvet Morganite: peach, nectarine and coconut, a heart of osmanthus and rose, then patchouli, vanilla and musk.
Wild Emerald: cumin, saffron and potato in the opening, a heart of rose and labdanum, then patchouli and cedarwood.
Which Attar Al Has perfume should I choose?
Rose lovers are spoilt for choice: spicy with Anatolian Rose, bright with Golden Ice or blended with orange blossom in Liberty’s Way. For a gourmand fruity, try Exquisite and its Turkish delight, Harmonic Tourmaline, Radiant Peridot or Velvet Morganite. Those who prefer woods, spices and amber will head for Ethereal Moonstone, Leather Effecto, Tiger’s Eye or Wild Emerald, the boldest of the collection.
