Liberty’s Way

by Sidonie Lancesseur

Mandarin opens bright and zesty. Lavender soothes straight away. Blackcurrant fizzes fresh in the background. It is a brilliant, bold opening. Jasmine sambac reigns over the heart, white and sensual. Orange blossom curls around it elegantly. Tea brings an unexpected aromatic complexity. In the base, vetiver adds a green touch. Amber and woody notes build a warm structure. Vanilla and musk finish softly. A white floral that gradually trades its arrogance for a natural grace.

The fragrance

Right away, mandarin crackles, bright and juicy. Lavender comes in, soothing. Blackcurrant pinches lightly, creating a pleasant fruity, fresh tension. It is a bold, almost impudent opening.
At the heart, jasmine sambac blooms in full, white and carnal. Orange blossom curls gently around it, creating a pure floral bouquet. Tea arrives as an unexpected aromatic twist, complex and stimulating. Gradually, the fragrance softens, trading its initial arrogance for a natural grace.
In the base, dry, herbaceous vetiver soothes. Amber warms. The woody notes give structure. Vanilla adds a light creaminess. Musk arrives powdery and sensual.

The brand

Attar Al Has is a perfume house founded in Istanbul in 2021 by Ersin Bas and Sinan Karakas. Its name refers to the tradition of the ‘attar’, the artisan perfumer who extracts, distils and blends raw materials using age-old techniques. The house follows this heritage without trying to reproduce it identically. It develops a contemporary style drawing on references from oriental perfumery. Its positioning rests on a meeting point between different olfactory cultures. Heir to a territory historically situated between East and West, Attar Al Has builds its fragrances by pairing emblematic raw materials such as oud, amber, saffron or spices with more modern structures. The compositions are developed with perfumers from varied backgrounds, from both European and Middle Eastern perfumery, so as to cross approaches rather than set them against each other. This principle also carries through to the bottle design, inspired by Ottoman decorative codes. Conceived as crafted objects, the bottles extend the attention paid to materials and craftsmanship. Attar Al Has thus develops a perfumery built on historical references, while placing them in a contemporary setting.
