Simili Mirage

by Claire Liégent

A synthetic leather that breathes like skin. Ambrette, immortelle and marine ozone create a warmth that shifts with the body. Thyme, pine and resin trace a dry sillage. The artificial becomes intimate.

The fragrance

The opening unfolds a synthetic leather that breathes, almost alive. Not a heavy or familiar leather. Something that plays between nature and the lab. Ambrette arrives straight away, bringing a carnal warmth. Dalmatian immortelle curls around it, adding an earthy, golden softness. Marine ozone crackles lightly, setting up a cool tension against all that warmth.
Mineral notes glint, geometric. Thyme and pine come in dry, herbal, almost Mediterranean. Resin coils in, thickening the texture. A heat-sensitive accord wakes up with the warmth of the body. Everything moves. Everything shifts.
What remains is this ambiguity: a leather that is not really leather. An illusion truer than the truth. Not made to reassure but to unsettle, gently. A mirage you smell before you see it.

The brand

Première Peau is a French perfume house born in Paris around Pierre Mergui. Its story does not begin with a brand image, but with raw materials, formulas that take a long time to stabilise, bottles crafted as objects, and perfumers left free to work as they see fit. After three years of development, the first collection came out in 2025: seven extraits de parfum composed by Claire Liégent, Grégoire Balleydier, Ugo Charron and Florian Gallo. Each creation is less about pleasing straight away than about asserting a signature: chalky iris, dense saffron, nocturnal jasmine, salted leather, truffle, ink, asphalt or abstract skin. Première Peau rejects decorative perfume. The brand stands for a more direct, more physical, sometimes unsettling kind of perfumery, where the materials keep their edges. What you wear with Première Peau is not just a fragrance, but an invisible, intimate layer that is almost part of who you are. A first skin, in the most literal sense of the word.
