The fragrance
Myrrhe & Musc feels like a warm veil laid over the skin, between resin and clean softness.
From the first notes, myrrh brings a lightly balsamic, resinous facet, almost spiritual, but without being too heavy. It is quickly softened by the musk, which gives the fragrance a feel of clean, soft, comforting skin.
As time passes the fragrance becomes more intimate and cocooning. It stays close to the skin, with a discreet, elegant warmth, between milky softness and resinous depth. The result is a very soothing, almost meditative perfume that plays on the balance between intensity and softness.
The brand
Maison Rebatchi is a French perfume house founded in 2018 by Mohamed Rebatchi, born in Créteil in 1991, the son of Algerian emigrants, who on the face of it was destined for none of this. At twelve, he would secretly wander through perfume shops after school. He taught himself, sharpened his nose and learnt the materials. No school, no network, no money, only a conviction and a knowledge of scent that ended up surprising those in the know. The adventure took a decisive turn the day he contacted Karine Chevallier. That meeting led to others: Randa Hammami, then Maurice Roucel, then Bertrand Duchaufour. With each collaboration, the same reaction: surprise at his command of materials and his ability to push perfumers ever further. Drawn to the man as much as to the project, these great names gave him what the industry rarely grants the self-taught: their trust and a free hand. Every perfume from the house is the fruit of this dynamic. One perfumer, one emblematic raw material, one personal story. Bois d’enfant by Karine Chevallier summons the pine forests of the Vendée. Cuir Tassili by Aliénor Massenet crosses the Algerian desert. Feu Patchouli by Bertrand Duchaufour brings smoke and spice. Joyeux Osmanthe and Musc Panache bear the signature of Maurice Roucel. Creation by creation, an invisible bridge takes shape between two cultures, France and Algeria.
