The Fragrance

Gourmand Bakhoor is inspired by bakhoor, a blend of scented woods and resins traditionally burned in the Middle East to perfume homes and clothes. The fragrance evokes this soft, enveloping smoke combined with sweet, gourmand notes. The opening is rich and warm, with a slightly smoky and spicy feel. Gradually, more gourmand notes emerge, bringing a sugary sweetness that softens the depth of the bakhoor. Over time, the woods and resins settle further, creating an enveloping, sensual, and very comforting fragrance. The overall result is an intense and gourmand scent that recalls the warm atmosphere of a home perfumed with incense and oriental sweets.

The brand

Jousset Parfums is a French niche perfumery house founded in 2020 by Jimmy Bodin and his partner Melis, from their apartment in Switzerland, initially sharing small artisanal batches with close friends and family. The brand is named after Jimmy's deceased mother, who passed on to him her love of beautiful perfumes and whose passion he carried as a legacy. His father taught him something else: that everything is built with one's own hands. These two legacies are at the heart of what Jousset creates. Jimmy Bodin is self-taught. No academic training, no time spent in a classic perfumery house. His method is one of instinct, precision through repeated trials, and complete honesty about what he loves. What he loves are perfumes that are almost perceived as something to taste. He has named his signature the Ultra-Gourmand™, a category he invented and that belongs entirely to him. Where classic gourmand often remains in the realm of ubiquitous sweetness, Jousset's Ultra-Gourmand is built like an oud perfume: layer after layer, material upon material, sweetness counterbalanced by depth. Accident à la Vanille, La Tarte Tatin, Gourmand Bakhoor, Ciao Bello Pistachio: each creation reconstructs a precise, almost edible memory, with a concentration well above market standards. Since 2023, production has moved back to France, to an independent workshop in La Mézière, Brittany, Jimmy's hometown. A brand born from nothing, built by hand, which has established itself in 60 boutiques and 12 countries in less than five years.
