The Thomas de Monaco house
Before it was a perfume house, Thomas de Monaco was a way of seeing. A Franco-Swiss art director and photographer, its founder spent more than twenty years building the image of the great luxury houses, Dior, Hermès, YSL, Armani, Cartier and Rolex, between Paris, New York and Zurich. His encounter with the world of Helmut Lang, contemporary and quietly retro, marked a turning point that still shapes his work. In 2020 he founded his own house and made perfume a new medium, the only one in which the final image no longer belongs to him: it takes shape in each wearer's imagination. Housed in a former Gustave Eiffel factory in Zurich, the atelier works at an artisan's pace, far from industrial rhythms. Each extrait comes out of a close dialogue with perfumer Maurus Bachmann, under the founder's creative direction. One belief guides it all: a perfume is not simply worn, it is completed.
