Sunset Hour - Dark Peach

by Clément Marx

Sunset Hour - Dark Peach by Goldfield & Banks is a bright fruity perfume inspired by the golden warmth of a sunset in Broome, Western Australia. Australian desert peach meets Jamaican rum, mandarin and pink peppercorns, before giving way to a warmer base of benzoin and vanilla.

Ginger and benzoin add spicy depth, before a base of vanilla, woody ambers and tonka bean reveals a velvety, warm and irresistibly addictive sillage.

The fragrance

As the sun slips below the horizon, the light changes colour, the air warms and the evening begins. Sunset Hour - Dark Peach captures that suspended moment on the coast of Broome, in Western Australia, in a deeper, more sensual interpretation of Sunset Hour.

The composition opens on Australian desert peach, wrapped in the warmth of Jamaican rum. Italian mandarin and pink peppercorns bring a juicy, slightly fizzy brightness, setting fruity freshness against amber warmth.

At the heart, organic Madagascan ginger adds a spicy vibration, while benzoin and upcycled ylang-ylang develop a creamier, sunnier facet. The fragrance gradually gains depth without losing its initial radiance.

In the base, vanilla, woody ambers and tonka bean come together in a soft, warm and comforting accord. The sillage grows denser and more velvety, leaving a sensual trail on the skin that carries the sunset mood on into the night.

Sunset Hour - Dark Peach is an amber fruity fragrance, generous and magnetic, made for anyone looking for a warm, gourmand and sophisticated perfume.

The brand

Goldfield & Banks is a perfume house founded in Australia, born in Sydney in 2016 out of love at first sight. Dimitri Weber, a Franco-Belgian perfumer, visited Australia for the first time around 2014 and went looking for an Australian perfume brand. He could not find a single one. Fascinated by the botanical richness of a continent that modern perfumery had barely explored, he decided to stay and create what did not yet exist. The name of the house pays tribute to Joseph Banks, the British botanist who sailed with James Cook on his voyage around the world in the 18th century and was the first to reveal Australia's extraordinary plant diversity to Europe. Dimitri Weber brings that same explorer's curiosity to his perfumes: boronia, Australian red ginger, Tasmanian sandalwood, southern coastal moss, Tasmanian lavender grown from Provençal plants transplanted a century ago. Rare ingredients, rarely if ever used in perfumery, harvested locally then sent to France to be formulated with organic beet alcohol and bottled using European methods. Each perfume is a precise postcard: a sunset over the Indian Ocean for Sunset Hour, the feeling of walking along a wave-battered coast for Pacific Rock Flower, the warmth of a rose in the middle of the desert for Rose Magnitude. High-concentration extraits, made to last and leave a clear mark. Australia in a bottle, composed with French savoir-faire.
