Yara

by Firmenich

A modern, sensual leather, between vibrant spices and elegant depth. Yara by Parfums D'Elmar is built around strength and character, with a clear aim of reworking leather into a more modern, seductive version.

Who it's for, when to wear it

A woody, spicy fragrance. Wear it every day, in the evening and on a date. Top notes: saffron, pink pepper, bergamot. Heart: jasmine, tonka bean, rose. Base: leather, cedarwood, vetiver oil, amber. Composed by Firmenich.

How to wear it

Two or three sprays are plenty: on the neck, the wrists and your clothes, where the base notes hold on longest. Apply it to moisturised skin for better hold, and go lighter in the heat.

The fragrance

Yara plays on the duality between intensity and sophistication, with a truly contemporary oriental signature.

From the opening, you sense a spicy, slightly sharp freshness, vivid enough to add relief straight away. This opening is dynamic, almost cutting, but stays elegant. The fragrance soon warms up and begins to wrap the skin, with a softer, slightly floral texture that balances the initial intensity.

Over time, Yara reveals its full depth. Leather gradually takes up more space, joined by woody and ambery notes that bring a sensual, lasting warmth. The base grows darker and more textured, with a signature both elegant and assertive. The fragrance holds this tension between spicy freshness and leathery depth to the end, leaving a striking, sophisticated trace.

The brand

Parfums D'elmar is a Swiss house founded by Elmar Métry, whose family coat of arms adorns the logo on every bottle. His original ambition was to create a house where luxury would not be a marketing promise but a material reality: the rarest ingredients, the highest concentration and the most carefully crafted object possible. The house's technical distinction lies in its 35% concentration of perfume essences, which it calls Quintessence de Parfum. Where a classic extrait de parfum ranges between 20 and 30%, Parfums D'elmar takes this logic to its limit to guarantee a presence on the skin that settles deeply and evolves over time. To compose these creations, the house teamed up with Mark Buxton, born in England, trained in Hamburg and based in Paris, a city he fell in love with more than twenty years ago. Author of the very first Comme des Garçons perfume in 1994, and having created for Givenchy, Cartier, Paco Rabanne and Le Labo, Buxton is known for his motto: 'Simplicity is the ultimate degree of luxury.' His style, made of short, concentrated formulas where every note has a reason to be there, resonates directly with Elmar Métry's high standards. The bottles themselves are cut from hand-polished crystal and topped with gold-plated caps adorned with more than 360 crystals.
