White rose

by Cyrill Rolland

A soft, powdery white rose, elegant and hushed. White rose offers a rose far softer and subtler than the classic ones. The fragrance aims for something calm, elegant, almost silent, like a flower you smell up close.

The fragrance

White rose opens on a bright freshness, with lemon and white flowers adding a radiant yet very light touch. Then the rose appears, but it stays soft and slightly musky, with a powdery, faintly violet facet that makes it very refined.

Over time, it becomes softer and smoother, as musks and creamy notes even out the composition. The fragrance stays very clean, very skin-like, with a quiet elegance that never tries too hard.

This is a fragrance of finesse, playing on subtlety and softness rather than an intense or opulent rose.

The brand

Majouri is a French perfume house founded in Paris in 2017 by Hadi Masmoum, who was born in Damascus, one of the world’s oldest capitals, into a family of perfume merchants. This dual heritage, the East of his childhood and the France of his upbringing, shapes everything the house does. The name says it all. “Maa,” meaning water in Arabic, and “Jouri,” the Damask rose: two words, two worlds, one house. It was in Grasse that Hadi Masmoum studied perfumery, falling in love with a Mediterranean light shared by both sides of his life, the light that nourishes both the Grasse rose and the Damask rose of his origins. This shared light has become the guiding thread of all his compositions. The fragrances are developed in Grasse in collaboration with renowned perfumers, to whom Hadi Masmoum grants genuine creative freedom, while inviting them to filter their work through his own olfactory sensibility. The bottle, designed by Pochet du Courval, a brand founded in Normandy in the 17th century and a benchmark of luxury, reflects this same dialogue: textured glass adorned with oriental arabesques, a gilded cap evoking a rising or setting sun, somewhere between the two shores. Refillable from the very beginning, long before sustainability became a trend, it is designed to last as long as the memory it carries.
