Sweet Ambrette

by Laure Santantoni

A soft, luminous musk, between fruity freshness and clean skin. Sweet Ambrette is built around ambrette seed, a plant material with a very soft musky effect, almost like skin. The fragrance plays on the contrast between bright freshness and sensual warmth, with something very fluid and natural about it.

The fragrance

Sweet Ambrette opens on a sparkling freshness of bergamot, very light, almost airy. Pear then adds a juicy, soft touch that makes it bright and easy to wear.

Over time, ambrette and musks take over, with a soft, powdery, slightly sensual texture that sits very close to the skin. The fragrance grows calmer and cosier, with a real 'clean but warm' feel.

It is a subtle, modern fragrance that balances freshness, softness and quiet sensuality.

The brand

Majouri is a French perfume house founded in Paris in 2017 by Hadi Masmoum, who was born in Damascus, one of the world’s oldest capitals, into a family of perfume merchants. This dual heritage, the East of his childhood and the France of his upbringing, shapes everything the house does. The name says it all. “Maa,” meaning water in Arabic, and “Jouri,” the Damask rose: two words, two worlds, one house. It was in Grasse that Hadi Masmoum studied perfumery, falling in love with a Mediterranean light shared by both sides of his life, the light that nourishes both the Grasse rose and the Damask rose of his origins. This shared light has become the guiding thread of all his compositions. The fragrances are developed in Grasse in collaboration with renowned perfumers, to whom Hadi Masmoum grants genuine creative freedom, while inviting them to filter their work through his own olfactory sensibility. The bottle, designed by Pochet du Courval, a brand founded in Normandy in the 17th century and a benchmark of luxury, reflects this same dialogue: textured glass adorned with oriental arabesques, a gilded cap evoking a rising or setting sun, somewhere between the two shores. Refillable from the very beginning, long before sustainability became a trend, it is designed to last as long as the memory it carries.
