Blanc sésame

by Ilias Ermenidis

A soft, creamy cocoon, between warm sesame and musky skin. Blanc sésame brings out a very soft sense of comfort, almost like a cocoon. The fragrance revolves around sesame, a material that is fairly rare in perfumery, handled here in its most tender, lightly toasted facet.

The fragrance

Blanc sésame opens on a bright freshness of mandarin and neroli, quickly softened by sesame, which brings a warm, lightly toasted side. Straight away there is that soft, slightly cocooning feel, but with relief.

Then the fragrance turns creamier, with orange blossom, tonka and a touch of coffee giving a round, almost frothy texture without tipping into dessert.

Over time the white musk takes over, joined by a whipped cream effect and dry woods, giving a very skin-like result, clean but warm. The fragrance becomes calmer and more intimate, like a soft bubble around you.

The brand

Majouri is a French perfume house founded in Paris in 2017 by Hadi Masmoum, who was born in Damascus, one of the world’s oldest capitals, into a family of perfume merchants. This dual heritage, the East of his childhood and the France of his upbringing, shapes everything the house does. The name says it all. “Maa,” meaning water in Arabic, and “Jouri,” the Damask rose: two words, two worlds, one house. It was in Grasse that Hadi Masmoum studied perfumery, falling in love with a Mediterranean light shared by both sides of his life, the light that nourishes both the Grasse rose and the Damask rose of his origins. This shared light has become the guiding thread of all his compositions. The fragrances are developed in Grasse in collaboration with renowned perfumers, to whom Hadi Masmoum grants genuine creative freedom, while inviting them to filter their work through his own olfactory sensibility. The bottle, designed by Pochet du Courval, a brand founded in Normandy in the 17th century and a benchmark of luxury, reflects this same dialogue: textured glass adorned with oriental arabesques, a gilded cap evoking a rising or setting sun, somewhere between the two shores. Refillable from the very beginning, long before sustainability became a trend, it is designed to last as long as the memory it carries.
