The fragrance

Desert Suave feels like warm air heavy with spices and fruit, as if you were walking through an oriental market at sunset.

From the first notes, a spicy freshness comes through with cardamom and mandarin, quickly warmed by deeper nuances. Then the fragrance turns more gourmand and sensual with date, soft and almost sugary, surrounded by orange blossom and rose that bring light. Over time it settles onto something warmer and more textured, with toasted sesame and woods giving a slightly toasty, comforting feel.

The result is a perfume that is oriental, gourmand and luminous all at once, like an oriental pastry enjoyed against a golden desert backdrop.

The brand

Liquides Imaginaires is a French artistic perfume house founded in 2012 by Philippe Di Méo, a designer, and David Frossard, Artistic Director. In Antiquity, perfume was addressed to the gods before it was addressed to people. It is this original dimension, sacred and transformative, that Philippe Di Méo seeks to restore. Each collection bears a name that refers to the invisible world. Les Eaux Delà, because perfume has always been what crosses over, what passes to the other side. Les Eaux de Peau, because before language, human beings communicated through scent, through skin, through the animal they still were. Les Eaux Sanguines, because wine and blood share the same colour and the same sacred intoxication. Les Eaux de l'Est, because the incense and spice routes shaped perfumery long before Grasse. And Les Eaux Imaginaires call on the great maps of desire, from the Carte de Tendre to the geographies invented by literature. Three perfumes per collection, always. For Philippe Di Méo, the number three is perfect balance: body, soul, mind. Past, present, future. Each bottle, designed like an ancient vessel with gold or silver stoppers, is a ritual object in itself. He describes his creations as talismans in the literal sense: objects charged with power, able to open something in the person who wears them.
