Celeste

by Silvia Martinelli

A fresh, airy softness, like a sugared cloud. Celeste puts forward a soft, lightly gourmand freshness, built on the idea of a clear, bright and soothing sky. The fragrance suggests something light, almost cotton-soft, with a very delicate sweet touch that stays airy.

The fragrance

Celeste opens on a fresh, slightly fruity, almost aquatic feel that gives an immediate sense of cleanliness. Then the fragrance grows softer, with a sweet, musky texture that recalls something comforting, almost “cloud-like”.

With time, the whole becomes more melting, as musks and light woods smooth the scent and make it sit close to the skin. The feel stays soft, fresh and lightly sweet from start to finish.

The brand

The story of Giardini Di Toscana begins in 1942 in Bibbiena, a medieval village in the Casentino, one of the most unspoilt valleys in Tuscany. It was there that Giovan Piero and Emma Ducci opened their first shop, specialising in handmade perfumes and ointments. Silvia Martinelli, granddaughter of Giovan Piero and Emma, a self-taught perfumer trained in that same space filled with recipe notebooks and age-old techniques, is the one who brought the house into the era of auteur perfumery. Silvia combines the family heritage with a twofold ambition: to honour Italian tradition while exploring a free, deep and resolutely modern creativity. Her source of inspiration is the Tuscan garden, a meeting point between architecture and nature, between the work of human hands and the generosity of the land. That is where the fragrances are born: mist in the undergrowth, morning citrus, childhood biscuits, evening flowers. Precise images, never abstract. Production is entirely Italian, responsible and transparent: bottles blown by a historic glassworks powered by renewable energy, boxes printed locally on recycled paper. A house built over generations that still smells of Tuscany.
