Desert Sugar

by Pierre-Constantin Guéros

A warm, sunny sugar, between caramel and scorching sand. Desert Sugar showcases a warm, dry gourmand quality inspired by the heat of the desert. The fragrance recalls sugar warmed by the sun, almost caramelised, with something simple but very addictive about it.

The fragrance

Desert Sugar opens on an immediate softness, with a warm, sugary effect that recalls caramel that is still runny. Then the fragrance becomes more textured, with slightly spicy, dry nuances that keep it from turning too gourmand.

Over time, it settles and becomes rounder, with woods and musks that anchor this sweetness while giving it a more skin-like feel. The sugar stays present, but more blended and deeper.

This is a gourmand fragrance, but a sunny one, playing on warmth and texture rather than on a classic dessert effect.

The brand

Fazaya is a young French perfume house founded by Yanis and Faouzi, two travel and perfume enthusiasts who spent eighteen months laying the foundations of their project before launching their first creation. It was in Dubai, on repeated stays in a world where perfume is a language of its own, that they understood what they wanted to do: not to copy oriental perfumery, but to meet it. Their first perfume, Desert Sugar, composed by perfumer Pierre-Constantin Guéros, sets the direction of the house from the outset. A high-concentration composition, conceived as an elixir rather than an eau de parfum, blending the woody, sweet warmth of the East with French manufacturing standards. White musk, citrus, amber, oakmoss, sandalwood: fine materials, produced and formulated in France, with protected formulas. The perfumer himself sums it up: Desert Sugar is what modern Franco-oriental perfumery is, powerful and radiant. This dialogue between two perfume cultures that seem opposed in every way, the opulent intensity of the East and the restrained precision of French perfumery, is the very reason Fazaya exists. A house that is still young, but with a very clear view of what it wants to build.
