The fragrance

Santal de Banda works this material in a version that is both creamy and dense, with something deeply comforting. This is not a light or sheer sandalwood but a more intense material, almost addictive.

The fragrance opens on an immediate woody softness, warm and slightly spicy, which adds contour. Then sandalwood takes over, with a creamy but also slightly dry facet that gives the fragrance real texture.

Over time, it grows deeper and more blended, with woods and musks reinforcing that feeling of continuous warmth. Sandalwood stays dominant, but smoother and rounder, with an elegant, long-lasting sillage.

This is an intense, carefully crafted woody fragrance that plays on the richness and texture of sandalwood rather than on lightness.

The brand

Bey is a French niche perfume house founded in 2024 by Raf Bey, who is also behind Librery Parfums and is creative director of Phenom. The name is no accident: in the Ottoman Empire, bey was a title held by dignitaries, a noble and quiet authority built on dignity rather than display. That is exactly the spirit of the house. For its Renaissance collection, Raf Bey entrusted the compositions to two perfumers, Chris Maurice and Nathalie Feisthauer, with a clear brief: create perfumes that tell a story without needing to shout. Six unisex creations, with no assigned gender, each inhabiting a different atmosphere. Abyssoria explores mineral, saline depths. Cachemire Blanc wraps you in soft, textile warmth. Excursion summons spice markets and oriental pastries through a remarkably precise orange blossom and almond accord. What unites these fragrances is the same restraint in expression and the same ambition in materials. The bottle follows the same logic: sober and pared back, designed so that nothing distracts from the fragrance itself. A brand-new house, led by someone who already knows his craft very well.
