Lilac Wine

by Frank Voelkl

A soft, heady lilac, like a hazy, elegant memory. Lilac Wine is inspired by the song made famous by Nina Simone, a gentle piece of music charged with emotion, almost melancholic.

The fragrance

Lilac Wine takes up the idea of a suspended, slightly hazy moment, like after a few glasses, when sensations become more diffuse and intimate.

From the first notes, you feel a floral softness with lilac, light and slightly powdery, giving an almost airy impression. The fragrance then becomes rounder and more comforting, with a lightly fruity, liqueur-like facet, like a sweet wine that slowly warms you.

Over time, the scent turns softer and muskier, with an almost misty feel, like a memory that lingers. The result is a delicate yet emotional perfume, between florals, softness and a touch of nostalgia.

The brand

Art Meets Art is an independent French perfume house founded by Tanguy Le Baud, a guitarist and music lover who grew up on a Parisian houseboat overlooking the Pont Alexandre III. His founding belief: a great song and a great perfume share the same nature. Both tell a story, awaken a memory and settle inside us in a way that belongs to each of us alone. Every fragrance in the house is the olfactory translation of a cult track, composed with a leading perfumer like a two-voice alchemy, that of the song and that of the perfumer. Like A Virgin by Alberto Morillas, Besame Mucho or Sexual Healing by Christophe Raynaud, Lilac Wine by Frank Voelkl. Songs everyone knows, but that each of us carries differently depending on our own intimate memories. That is exactly what perfume does: same bottle, a thousand versions. The brand calls it 'mojo': mood, energy, that personal something that shifts with the days and the emotions. Choosing your Art Meets Art perfume means choosing your mojo.
