The fragrance
Indigo Smoke draws on traditional indigo dyeing, with its idea of transformation and living material, somewhere between fire, leaves and pigments.
From the first notes, a soft smoke appears, blended with green, lightly aromatic nuances. The fragrance then grows denser and more textured, with a tea accord that brings a dry, elegant depth. There is something calm yet intense about it, like a slow ritual.
Over time, the scent warms up with woods and darker notes that extend this smoky feel that wraps the skin. The result is an original perfume, between smoke, tea and wood, with a genuinely contemplative, artistic mood.
The brand
Arquiste is a perfume house founded by Carlos Huber, an architect by training and a historian specialising in heritage preservation. The brand rests on a singular approach to perfume: each creation is conceived as the reconstruction of a precise moment, rooted in a place and a period. Carlos Huber develops his perfumes from historical research, archives and cultural references, which he then translates into an olfactory composition. The aim is not to freely interpret a mood, but to rebuild a scene. Each perfume therefore corresponds to a defined situation, a date, a setting, an atmosphere. A bedroom, a garden, a voyage, a frozen instant, brought back to life through raw materials. Arquiste's olfactory style remains contemporary, but always serves this narrative intention. Perfume becomes a way of travelling through time.
