The Fugazzi house
Fugazzi was founded in Amsterdam in 2018. Its founder, Bram Niessink, had just graduated with a degree in fashion management when a trip to Egypt with his grandfather sparked the idea. He first launched a streetwear-inspired brand, then turned his attention to fragrance with a concept he dubbed ‘storysmelling’: a fragrance shouldn’t impose a narrative; it should awaken the wearer’s own story. The brand loves to pair notes that don’t seem to go together, a tropical fruit and oud, pomegranate and patchouli, leather and grapefruit. Parfum 1 launched the collection in 2018, followed by Goudh and In Love With The Cocos in 2020. Yet it was Angel Dust, built around cashmeran, the ‘polished’ molecule that stays closest to the skin, that brought Fugazzi worldwide recognition. The fragrances are conceived and crafted in Amsterdam, where the brand has opened its boutique.
