Jour 21

by Wessel-Jan Kos

Warm light that turns into addictive heat. Jour 21 captures a turning point, like warmth beginning to settle gently on the skin. The fragrance draws on the solstice, the moment when light is at its peak, with that feeling of heat, energy and transition.

Who it's for, when to wear it

A unisex fragrance, spicy and citrus. Wear it every day, in the evening and on a date. Powerful sillage: people will notice it several metres away. Top notes: orange. Heart: saffron, jasmine, woody moss. Base: vanilla, amber. Composed by Wessel-Jan Kos.

How to wear it

Apply two or three sprays to the neck and wrists, plus one on fabric to make the warmer notes last. It holds better on moisturised skin; in very hot weather, a single spray may be enough.

The fragrance

Jour 21 opens on a round, radiant orange, almost sunlit, bringing a freshness that is soft but already warm. The fragrance then gains texture, with a blend of jasmine, saffron and moss that feels floral, spicy and slightly earthy all at once.

Over time, it wraps around you more, as vanilla and ambery woods bring a steady warmth, almost like 'skin warmed by the sun'. The fragrance keeps a real presence, feeling both luminous and dense.

It plays on the shift from freshness to warmth, with a sunny vibe that is already sensual.

The brand

Majouri is a French perfume house founded in Paris in 2017 by Hadi Masmoum, who was born in Damascus, one of the world’s oldest capitals, into a family of perfume merchants. This dual heritage, the East of his childhood and the France of his upbringing, shapes everything the house does. The name says it all. “Maa,” meaning water in Arabic, and “Jouri,” the Damask rose: two words, two worlds, one house. It was in Grasse that Hadi Masmoum studied perfumery, falling in love with a Mediterranean light shared by both sides of his life, the light that nourishes both the Grasse rose and the Damask rose of his origins. This shared light has become the guiding thread of all his compositions. The fragrances are developed in Grasse in collaboration with renowned perfumers, to whom Hadi Masmoum grants genuine creative freedom, while inviting them to filter their work through his own olfactory sensibility. The bottle, designed by Pochet du Courval, a brand founded in Normandy in the 17th century and a benchmark of luxury, reflects this same dialogue: textured glass adorned with oriental arabesques, a gilded cap evoking a rising or setting sun, somewhere between the two shores. Refillable from the very beginning, long before sustainability became a trend, it is designed to last as long as the memory it carries.
