P. Frapin & Cie is a family-owned French company established in Charente since 1270, with a winemaking tradition passed down from father to son for twenty-one generations. Its 240-hectare estate is located in the heart of Grande Champagne, the Premier Cru of Cognac, where the chalky soils and micro-terroir give the eaux-de-vie their unique depth. Frapin has applied this same demanding approach to land and time to its perfumes since 2004. The family's genealogical tree holds a surprise: François Rabelais, one of the great humanists of the French Renaissance, was the nephew of Anne-Catherine Frapin. The quill on the house's logo is a tribute to him. Later, Louis XIV awarded a coat of arms to his apothecary Pierre Frapin. This demonstrates that this house embodies something that goes beyond mere artisanal production. Its perfumes are stories. 1270 pays homage to the family's establishment in Charente and to Folle Blanche, a legendary grape variety now extinct, whose aromas of grape, burnt vine shoots, and candied fruits resurrect its memory. 1270 Extrême takes this concept further with notes of honey, pineapple, and tonka bean. L'Humaniste evokes the spirit of Rabelais, his curiosity, and his tolerance. Each bottle is a Charentais fresco, an era, a character, a noble material presented with the same patience that presides over the aging of cognacs in the century-old cellars.
